Pretty good product

I originally wanted a bassinet to sit at my bedside, to be able to push it away for me to either sit or stand up to reach my son at night and the wheels and side entry make this very convenient.
What I liked: (1) It has several music choices which my son enjoys and you can raise or lower the volume; (2) There's vibration which also can be changed in intensity; (3) Side entry which makes it easier to reach my son; (4) wheels which is helpful for when I need to get out of bed; (5) low level light - this is a great feature because I can put it on to frequently check on my son however, do so without waking up him or my husband; (6) mobile swings out of the way depending on which side you pick up your baby
What I found unhelpful/ineffective: (1) My biggest issue with this bassinet is the mattress. It is too soft and flimsy and after only 2 weeks' use, developed a concave imprint where my son mostly sleeps so any movement is restricted. However, I did contact customer service to inform them and even though I was told that this is an uncommon complaint, the woman was very accommodating and is sending out a new mattress, free of charge, no questions asked (nor receipt requested).
(2) The other thing is that my son has reflux - which, I've heard, is common in newborns, and we need to be able to raise the head of his bed as instructed by our physician. Since the mattress has no "backbone" and loses shape, propping up one side of it causes the rest of the mattress to be at an uncomfortable angle, hence not an option. We have to raise up the base of the bassinet on several textbooks which makes it difficult for me to now get out of bed or move it around on the wheels because the books will fall out. Perhaps it was not possible for Kolcraft to build in this feature of raising up the head of the bassinet because it is not considered safe by the American Academy of Pediatrics? Not sure about that...
Overall, it's a pretty good bassinet, meeting most of our needs.

Side opening very nice. Base of bassinet a little large, couldnt fit on side of my bed. I used this with my son until he was 4 mos and 15 lbs! I kind of pushed as much life out of it as i could ;) Much nicer than the original kolcraft i had with my daughter.

Great bargain for the price

We bought this bassinet as a secondary bed for a 6 week old infant that came into our lives with no warning, as she was too small for the regular crib/monitor.
She loves the classical music with the lights and mobile. She can deal with the lullabies, but hates the white noise...we think she's gonna be a singer, so that seems right....The mobile does turn with the bassinet hood up, and the music has good quality for what it is.
The motion feature is great in that you can change the speed- at first she hated it, but has slowly gotten used to it, and likes it at the lower speed.
It is easy to flip the wheels down to roll the bassinet to another room. my only wish is that there was an auto switch for the rocker, like there is for the motion.
The bassinet was not too bad to put together (after the instructions got found inside a piece (after 10 minutes of trying to figure it out without them!)-so make sure you take all pieces out of box and apart! After that it was simple to put together.
Only true complaint was that the mattress is pretty thin-we had to add a small blanket to beef it up some.
Good buy for the money if you need to have infant in your room, or in another room of the house during the day.
